Julie as Storyteller

Julie has been telling stories to her sisters and cousins since she was young and to her own children and their friends. She was an educator for 36 years including teaching elementary school, substituting in all grades, librarian for both secondary and elementary schools, adjunct college teacher of Children’s Literature. She is an adjunct faculty member at Denver University where she teaches a storytelling class in the Library and Information Sciences department.

Julie's Storytelling

Julie's repertoire includes folktales from around the world, literary stories, family stories and more. She is able to adapt a program to your needs.

Julie has presented storytelling sessions and workshops at various conferences including the Rocky Mountain Storytelling Conference, Colorado Educational Media Association Conference, and Southwestern Regional Library Service System Retreats. She has taught storytelling classes for the Monte Vista, CO, and Alamosa, CO, school districts. She is an adjunct faculty member at Denver University where she teaches a storytelling class in the Library and Information Sciences department. In 1989 she was a member of Colorado Storytellers on Tour.

Performance Presentations:

  • One Session in a classroom, small school district, after school program (no more than 100 students)
  • Half day presentations of three individual sessions

  • Full day presentations of five individual sessions

  • Workshops for teachers on using storytelling in their classrooms to help meet Standards
  • Workshops for small groups of children in order to help them become storytellers.
